8:30 Welcome
David announced that a new draft Responsible Use Policy has been posted to the TEP web site with some supporting documentation.
8:40 Proposal to join CES
David explained the rationale for joining CES. Antonio presented the proposal. The exisiting PLC and TEP services will both be continued under the new arrangement. It is unclear who would be the TEP coordinator at CES; perhaps Antonio or Casey would assume the roll. CES grant resources could be utilized by TEP to obtain grant funding and in exchange for those services, CES would get the overhead from the grant. There was not a quorum present, so no vote was taken. Voting will be done by email between today and Monday, 5:00 P.M.
9:45 Elect Chair, Advisory Board
Tabled pending result of CES affiliation vote.
9:50 Pick a meeting day/time
After minimal discussion, the group decided to continue with the first and third Thursdays of the month for TEP meetings. The next meeting will be on Oct. 6, 2011, location TBA.
9:55 Ideas for vendor presentations, workshops
The following suggestions were made for upcoming meetings and workshops:
- iPad carts in K-12 and iPads for textbooks (Angela will contact Apple folks for suggestions.)
- Wireless solutions (Angela?, Jerry?)
- MBI to discuss fiber connectivity for schools (David will contact MBI)
If you are interested in talking to your town MBI rep, you can find out who that person is by contacting: Christine Hatch, MBI Outreach Manager, (508) 870-0312 x 1620,
